Today, I am going to spend a minute to talk about Lexia Learning. Lexia Learning is a computer-based reading intervention. Designed for use in grades K-12, Lexia targets the struggling reader in the areas of decoding, fluency, and comprehension.
Lexia provides students with the ability to practice skills that have not yet been mastered. Lexia automatically adjusts accordingly to ensure that students are not only acquiring the necessary decoding and fluency skills, but that they have mastered them.
Lexia Learning has been given high marks in all 5 areas of reading acquisition by the Florida Center for Reading Research. What Works Clearinghouse has identified Lexia to be an effective intervention that meets their high standards in research. Lexia learning has also been named the 2009 EDNet Impact Award Winner.

I am looking forward to seeing the results of the implementation of Lexia Learning for struggling students in the district!
